His darkness drew me in.
A mystery with a past I wanted to solve.
He was cold, like ice, but set me on fire.
A heat I hadn't felt in ages.
But when I saw his face, I burned...
She melted from my voice--shuddered from my touch.
But trembled from the memories
That my face brought back.
She wanted more...
Maybe even him.
I wasn't the hand she counted on.
But I was what she was dealt...
A Wild Ace with no way to win.
They meet, by chance, at Derek and Frankie's masquerade party. Not seeing each other's faces, Brea and Trapper begin a "long distance" chat, with some of the hottest phone sexting I've read in a while. But what happens when they finally meet again and the masks come off, is when the story really begins.
This book was an emotional powerhouse and had so many surprises, twists, and turns, I loved it. I could not put it down. This was a love story, but not one that I was expecting. It was both beautiful and tragic. It was a standalone and you did not need to read Unblocked to read Wild Aces.. This was a definite 5 stars and a reread - ASAP!
