There is something all too vague about second chances. What happens when your utterly perfect, first chance never really ends? What if it’s stolen?
Bull-nosed attorney Morganna Sterns knows what she wants. Self assured, powerful, and independent, she finds herself struggling to find balance between honoring what has been stolen, and deciding if her second chance is going to end just as tragically.
Steven Warner is a Navy SEAL with nothing to lose. His overt humor and charm paired with his lethal skill set make him a perfect catch--for the right type of woman. His world is littered with relationships, but only one stands the test of time. Competing with a ghost is hard. Especially when that ghost is a teammate: his brother at arms.
It’s not, “it is what it is.” It’s what you make it. What you, and only you decide it should be. Navy SEALs never make the same mistake twice.
Will Morganna?

Amy's Review:
Morganna is the widow of a Navy SEAL named Stone. He was the LOVE of her life. She needed him like she needed air and when he died she vowed to never be with someone like him again, even if she does and always has found her best friend Steve to be sweet, hot and sexy as sin. Morganna is the queen of self-sabotage who is fiercely independent and refuses help from those that care about her, even when she may be in danger. She is loyal to her friend, the SEAL community but she is stuck froze in the past. Her pain and heartache jumps off the page and makes you want to just hug her.
Steve is a Navy SEAL on the same team as Stone but has also known Morganna since they were twelve. He is living with the regret that he should have told Morganna how he felt when they were younger, before she became the shell of her former self, before Stone. They have a friendship that has endured through 20 years and Steve is ready to finally claim Morganna as his. He has made it his mission to win her heart and keep her safe at all costs.
I really enjoyed this story. It was emotional, raw, heartbreaking and beautiful.
4 out of 5 breathtakingly beautiful stars
