When I found out that Bella Jewel had a new book coming out and I was asked if I would read it to give a review, I literally began jumping up and down with excitement. What can I say, I love reading Bella's books. This was not her typical book, and I loved, loved, loved it!!!! From the very first sentence, I knew it would be a page turner.
Step-Lover focuses on the "taboo and forbidden" attraction between Aria and Blade, who suddenly become step-sister and step-brother after the marriage of Aria’s mother to Blade's father. To make it even more awkward, Aria and Blade have already meet, and had a memorable weekend together, although neither of them told the other their name.
I devoured this book - DEVOURED it! Aria wasn't just dealing with her feelings about Blade, but she was also dealing with facing the deaths of her father and her sister, and allowing a new family into her heart. The uneasy but growing relationship she develops with her new "brothers" is emotional.
I laughed, and I cried, as I read this heartwarming story. The secondary characters were well developed and I fell in love with every one of them. Aria’s mother summed this book up with one beautiful line – “Live for the moment and live for your heart, not for everyone else’s.”
I give this HOT, moving, exceptionally emotional book 5 stars!!!
