My heart belonged to Branch and Brooks Valentine since we were children, when we were all too naïve to know what that even meant. We didn’t understand that when we became adults, love would change us. I had to make a choice and when I did, it ripped our bond apart. Brooks left town, and he took half of my heart with him. It was difficult, but I coped and planned my future with Branch. I thought I’d made the right decision. I loved him and I always had.
Brooks showed up to be our best man the night before our nuptials. After drinks and too much reminiscing, I ended up in bed with the wrong brother. To avoid the humiliation and the fact that I’d ruined all of our lives, I left Branch and the only family I’d ever known.
That’s where my story should have ended.
Two years, one beautiful little girl and an abusive marriage later, I was standing there staring at the man that would always hold my heart.
The only question was…
Would I give it to him
I’m Katy Michaels and this is my story.
Have you ever read a novel, that has one of those "issues" for most people, it might even have more than one "issue" in it. Most people either just will not read a book with love triangles and cheating, or they read it, rate it low and bash the author. Well, if you were to skip this book based on that, you would really be the one missing out.
I had never read anything by Jenn Foor, but going to book signings and being a part of the blogging world, I have heard how amazing she could write. My TBR list for personal books, just never seems to go down. If a book was't given to me to review or something just stands out and smacks me in the face about a book, I don't have a lot of extra reading time. I think I'm about to start making time for Jenn Foor. Ms. Foor writing style is brilliant and her characters were intriguing.
Foor had me enthralled from the first time Katy shared a kiss with the twins. When your best friends with the opposite sex, it's only natural to have a curiosity about them. So the three of them, come up with learning to kiss with each other so it wont be odd when with kiss someone else for the first time. That was one of my favorite passages in this book, it was so adorable.
Katy, Katy, Katy makes me think of that song, "What Was I Thinking" bless her little heart, she makes one bad decision after another. You really have to really feel for her, she loses both of her parents at a very early age. She lived with the twins and their parents for the rest of her school years. I think if in real life if someone were to lose their family and had no one else but their neighbors to take care of them, they might make a few decisions that were not the best- so for all of you Kathy bashers out there- BACK OFF!
Sometimes things happen for a reason, and people live with guilt and shame. Running away and not communicating never solves problems in books or real life, just remember that peeps!
I give Love's Suicide 5 stars!
