A radiant story of first love and self-acceptance for fans of John Green, Jandy Nelson, and Rainbow Rowell

“Maybe we weren’t meant to collide. Maybe we were meant to explode.”

As a closeted teenager in the Deep South with a holy-roller father and the scars to prove it, bookworm Cole Furman has resigned himself to experiencing life and love only within the pages of his favorite novels. But after Nick Flores seems to walk off a page and starts to rewrite his story, Cole finds his dreams spinning into a dazzling – and complicated – reality.

If you have ever found yourself on the wild breathless thriller ride that is young love, Honesty will rip you back again in screaming color.

I heard very good things about this book and I tried to think positive when I first started, but I also knew something bad was suppose to happen which scared me. Honesty was my very first Seth King book and to start off so strong with this incredible book, I can only hope I read more great books like this one. I wasn’t sure I was going to like this type of book because I have read a similar book and couldn’t make it through the entire book. When you get half way through Honesty you HAVE to finish! Cole is the type of guy to pull you in and make you feel like he’s your best friend, at least that’s the way I felt. Nicky just really upset me most of the time and so much that I wanted to hit something because I knew if I hit my phone I might break it.

While first reading this book I had an idea of the way things were going to go because it just felt typical bullying; which started the anger towards Nicky and never went away. I had so many emotions going through me while reading that at one point I just ended up closing my phone and crying. I hurt for Cole and the man I knew he wanted to be but just couldn’t become his real self outside of his place. I hurt for Nicky because he was such a confused boy who kept hurting Cole every way possible. I even hurt for the men and women going through these real life situations every day. By the end of this book I was a complete mess and needed a full week before I even wanted to touch another book. Seth King…WOW is the only word I could come up with and it’s the word that came out of my mouth after finishing this book. Congrats on a breath taking book and I am eager to start another!
