because I won’t respond. And if you think you can get away with whimpering
‘Matt’ while I have you tied to the bed, about to devour you, it’ll end up
being your loss.
Men like me don’t talk about feelings. We just don’t.
What men like me do is pound. I pound the asphalt with my
running shoes on morning runs. I pound a punching bag in the gym until my
knuckles bleed. And when I need a release, I find a beautiful woman sprawled
out on her bed, eagerly waiting for my cock, and pound her into oblivion. Yeah,
that’s me. I don’t have feelings, and I don’t do love.
At least I didn't, until the night Ella walked into my
office looking like a disgusting junky to interview for a position for The Onyx
She was like no one I’d ever met before. She was timid,
reserved, and quite plain with her mousy brown hair and dirty clothes. Ella
also had a dark and haunted gleam in her eye. A secret, a past she was
desperate to conceal.
And when she called me ‘Matt’ it didn't seem to bother me.
She came into my life and turned it upside down.
The only question is, can I screw her out of my system, or will my filthy
desire for her keep her by my side?
I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
Matthew comes off an as egotistical a-hole. He's arrogant, demanding, and domineering. I guess those are just the normal characteristics of a Dom, but it sort of makes you hate him from the very beginning of the book. Ella is a very broken woman. She has survived a horrendous past and is always on the run from it. The first time Matthew meets Ella its obvious that they have some sort of chemistry but he's such a jerk to her that you don't really see it going anywhere, until he rescues her from living out of her car. When you get these two people together good things happen. Ella shows Matthew how to fall in love and not just have sex with random girls and Matthew shows Ella what it is to be in a relationship that's built on trust. For some odd reason these two people go together. As a debut novel is concerned this was not a bad read. There were some mistakes of course and some editing errors but that is to be expected. The sex scenes are hot and the chemistry between the characters is believable. It was great to see the way Matthew evolved from a basic d-bag to someone who cares about someone other than himself. He really puts himself out there when it comes to Ella and he puts her needs before his own. I am so glad that the initial impression I got of this book was proved wrong. The beginning started off really rocky and I didn't know if I was going to finish it but I'm glad I did.
I give this book 3 out of 5 stars!
