Synopsis:
Avery Grant has been through a rough patch, she gave up her career to move home to help take care of her ailing parents. She married a man that she did not love and he almost bankrupted her family’s farm. She divorced the con man and saved her farm. Now she is going to get what she wants and for over twenty years she has wanted Kade Martin.

Kade has been attracted to his sister’s best friend for twenty years. In the beginning Avery was too innocent, then she was married and he was busy working hard and playing harder.

The plan is simple, after tonight’s party for their godson’s engagement, Avery is going home with Kade. One night of sex with no strings, that’s the plan.

Amy's Review:

This book was gifted by author in exchange an honest review.

Kade and Avery are going to an engagement party for their mutual godson and while planning a joint gift they have reconnected via sexy text messages.  Plans are made for the night after the party.  I really cannot say much more without spoiling the story as it is a 68 page novella.  The plot, my best friend’s big brother, while not original it works here because the story reads well even it felt rushed at times.

I found it entertaining with all of the elements of a good romance/erotic novel there, in smaller doses. You have your Alpha male, your overprotective BFF/sister and some hot quick sex scenes. The sex scenes were hot but did not overpower the entire story making it that more enjoyable.  I also liked that Kade and Avery's characters are seasoned and I connected well with that because I too am in my second twenties.  It's nice to see writers acknowledge more mature couples as there is a difference between love in our 20's and 30's than it is in our 40’s and after.

I will say I wanted more, I wanted to delve deeper.  I wanted to see where some of the story-lines could have gone.  However, the main characters story is told and in a short novella this is enough.

This is a solid, erotic novella from a debut author and I look forward to reading more in the future.
