Joel Anderson doesn’t take anything seriously.

Not his relationships, which have been few and far between since his brutal divorce. Not the drama of working in a tattoo parlor, which seems to be around every corner. When things get him down, he smiles and cracks a joke. But he’s not the kind of man you cross, or you’ll find yourself at the wrong end of his fists.

Annika Belousov takes everything seriously.

Like her job as a reality television producer, given that she typically has something to prove. Or her love life, which is defined by a series of requirements — affluent, ambitious, accomplished, to name a few. Definitely her family, who worked their whole lives to afford her every opportunity, a sacrifice she doesn’t take lightly. When she’s tapped to produce a reality show at Joel’s shop, she doesn’t think twice, just goes in for the kill, as if there were any other way.

The second Annika walks into Joel’s shop, he makes it his mission to crack her open, but she’s not having it. He’s all wrong — too crass, too hairy, too un-serious. But it doesn’t take her long to find out there’s more to him than smirks and tattoos. And what she finds could put her career and his heart on the line.

Not that Joel cares. Because for the first time in a long time, he’s found his tonic.

Every time I read one of Ms. Hart’s amazing books I get pulled into the world she has created and I feel every emotion that these characters are experiencing. We are brought into the world of tattoos and reality TV coupled with the drama of the behind the scenes of reality TV. Annika is a TV producer who has iced her heart over because of the harsh things she has had to do in her daily job. Annika and her boss Laney are in charge of a new reality show based on a tattoo shop’s owner Joel, his brother Shep, and their crew at the shop. Annika has some life changing decisions to make throughout most of the book and had my heart attached to her and the decisions she made.

My emotions ran from angry to deeply depressed and then bawling my eyes out in a sad way to bawling my eyes out in a happy way. My love for these characters was so deep I think I cried for majority of this book just out of pure love for them and the hope I was struggling to hang onto. I really thought I was not going to like Annika by the first couple of chapters because I immediately fell for Joel and his charm, but by the end of the book I understood where she was coming from and why she did the things she did throughout the book. I felt many different things about each character in Tonic from the new characters and even a familiar face had my stomach in knots by the end. Whether you meant to make me cry or not Ms. Hart this was one amazing cry for me and I will be feeling this one for a while. Congrats on this heartwarming 5 star read!

All Tyed Up by Julia Harlow

The past can be murder on relationships.

Isabel Beachwood just lost her dream job. Now she’s forced to move out of her precious Victorian apartment, and in with her stepsister, bringing back ugly memories of a painful childhood.

Ty Griffin is a financial magnate who deals in multi-million dollar mergers and acquisitions. His bespoke suits can’t hide a body worthy of a professional athlete. Those intense azure eyes telegraph a keen intellect. And his mouth, the only soft thing about him, is sinfully sensual. But his drive to succeed has all but obliterated any chance for a personal life.

Isabel is surprised when, during her moving sale, none other than the white-hot Ty Griffin, CEO of Grandin Financial, buys her prized Carmel-by-the-Sea table. When she finds out he’s part of the reason she lost her job, her apartment, and her adorable table, she’s incensed.

The moment Ty meets the voluptuous and challenging Isabel Beachwood, he’s completely enthralled. He’s the kind of man who’s used to getting what he wants. And he wants Isabel.

While their steamy relationship heats up, an insidious danger seems to be shadowing them. It’s a treacherous threat that could ruin everything.
Soon Ty and Isabel are dealing with an over-protective stepsister, a highly trained German Shepherd, a pain in the butt Welsh Corgi, a jealous gold-digger, an obsessed suitor, a former lover, and Isabel’s quirky tech colleagues. All of which turn out to be the least of their problems.

Because the past won’t die. And it can be murder.

This was my first read by Ms. Harlow and I was pleasantly surprised by many turn of events in this book. Isabel is a young girl who found her dream job and dream home but when things turned for the worse for her company she lost both. Isabel has a way with dogs and taught her dog to be very well trained and is by her side most of the time. She is not your typical character and that is what pulled me into this book more than anything. I needed to read about these characters and hope for a happy ending.

A chance meeting for Isabel and Ty happens when Isabel was selling something to Ty and from there he was sucked in like the rest of us. Ty is a very well respected and very powerful CEO of a company that quickly leaves a sour taste in Isabel’s mouth. And to be honest reading about Ty and something’s he was connected to left a sour taste in my mouth, but I pushed on hoping for the best.

This book has you expecting bad but quickly goes to sexy and then will leave you stunned but I will say I couldn’t finish this book fast enough to figure out the future of Isabel! My heart grew very fond of Isabel, in the sense that, I felt connected to her through being bullied and never feeling like you were good enough. Parts of this book may have been a bit descriptive for me to read and kept me from getting into the story in the beginning, but once Ms. Harlow pulled me into the story of Isabel I couldn’t put it down. Once you get to the end and are blown away by the ‘wow factor’ of events that take place, you will be extremely satisfied that you kept reading.

Ms. Harlow I look forward to reading more from you in the future and congrats on your coming release!

Synopsis:
London’s square mile is witness to a revolution, a new breed of business woman. They call us tiger sharks.

We out-earn, out-work and out-play our male counterparts. We work the system, play the game and most importantly, we win. In a city full of sharks only the most ruthless make it to the top of the pool.

The number one rule: never sleep with the boss. Ever. I had no intention of breaking it until I met my new boss. No matter how strong my resolve, Landon Banks can smell weakness like a shark smells blood in the water, and I’m bleeding.

The hunter becomes the hunted, lines start to blur, and I have a choice to make. Screw or be screwed. Of course, I never was much good at taking it like a bitch. Landon Banks will be learning to grab his ankles if I have anything to do with it.

Things are about to get interesting in the game of predator versus predator. Who will come out on top?

Donya's Review

I am blushing! This book took me out of my comfort-zone and had me squirming in my seat, but I loved it. Tiger Shark is a term used to describe Georgia Roberts. She is determined to make it to the top in a business where it is cutthroat. First rule - never sleep with the boss. But her downfall comes in the form of her new boss’s silent business partner - Landon Banks. She knows the rules, and so does he, but he’s bound and determined to get her.

Georgia, being a member of a very private and exclusive club, decides that in the confines of the club, they can live out their fantasies. In the club, behind masks, there are no names, no employee/boss relationship. But eventually, the masks will be coming off.

Like I said - blushing! LP Lovell knows just how to make a person feel uncomfortable, but you cannot put the book down. Georgia was a strong female character, facing what is all too familiar in the business world - women not being taken as seriously as their male counterparts. But LP’s character in Landon Banks was HOT! I could not put this book down. 5 blushing stars!

Derision: A Novel by Trisha Wolfe

*Dark erotic standalone that may have triggers

Here at Lark and Gannet, you’ll work directly under the partners, being groomed by the most powerful, all-male partnership to handle an exclusive clientele. While within The Firm, your level of training goes deeper, requiring more…varied tasks, which you’re obligated to perform to your Master’s pleasing.

Are you nervous? You should be. Chase Larkin has chosen you to be his submissive.

Alexis Wilde, will you submit?

All I wanted was to save my brother. Something my parents failed to do—and then, I failed him also. As an introvert, getting ahead in the cutthroat law firm required a level of ego stroking I didn’t posses, and that meant my talents were overlooked. Until Chase Larkin noticed me.

My erotic fantasy come to life, Chase is all powerful, all man, all dominant. In one night, he changed my life irrevocably. Now I’m ruined, destined to crave him forever. His scent. His taste. His brutal touch…

If I never followed him to his office that night, then none of this would’ve happened. A serial rapist on the prowl. Our lives in jeopardy. And only a moment—one pivotal moment—to decide our fate. His life or mine.

*This is a full length, standalone dark romance with an antihero that may trigger uncomfortable feelings for the reader. The court proceedings are centered around a rape case. Although there is no onscreen rape in this book, there are instances of rough sex and violent debasement for the main character.

Ms. Wolfe has the most incredible way to make you feel the emotions and desires her characters have in every book she writes! In some ways this book had a feel of another book but with a very different twist than I thought would happen or even the outcome of the ending of this book. I had very different ideas of what would happen at the end but nothing compares to what Ms. Wolfe writes and leaves you with at the end. Craving for more from each character and even characters you haven’t met yet but hope you will meet in the next book.

Alexis Wilde is a paralegal at a law firm of some very high end lawyers. Alexis keeps to herself, doing what she is told and keeps her head down not to bring attention to herself. She especially keeps to herself while lusting after her very attractive boss Mr. Larkin. She is only seen recently when it comes to the attention of the partners that she has put in for a promotion. Is she ready for what comes with that promotion or will she risk it all and leave the company?

Chase Larkin is of Lark and Gannet and is a very dominant man that pulls at your desires. He built Lark and Gannet but also has The Firm after hours that fully had my attention every time it was mentioned. Chase is pushed by his partners to make a decision he didn’t think he was fully prepared for the repercussions. Only once going through with his decision he never wants to go back.

I absolutely love the way Ms. Wolfe writes a story and pulls me into every part of the storyline and begs for more! I think this is a read for more twisted readers, as me, but what an incredible read! 5 intoxicating stars I found this book by Ms. Wolfe to be!

Annaliese Harper knows that one tiny mistake can jeopardize a career before it’s even begun. Letting your boss find the extensive collection of porn on your personal laptop is one way. Sleeping with him is another. Liese manages to do both.

As the new librarian at a prestigious small-town private high school, Liese is drawn to her sexy, charismatic principal, Ryder Whitehall—an attraction she refuses to acknowledge given their relationship and her recent liberation from a delusional ex-boyfriend.

Liese is certain Ryder’s flirtation is the product of her sex-deprived imagination—until he discovers her digital porn stash during working hours and demands a private meeting. Behind closed doors, their attraction explodes into a dangerous, passionate affair that not only threatens their jobs and reputations, but most of all, their hearts.

“Please tell me those aren’t your parents.”

“Those aren’t my parents,” Liese responded automatically.

“Those are your parents.” He groaned.

“Yes, they are. I thought they weren’t going to be here until tomorrow.”

“Sweet Christ. Your mother just saw my ass.” Ryder grabbed his discarded boxers from the floor and yanked them on.

“Don’t worry, you have a great ass.”

Ryder glared at her. “I don’t see how this is funny. What the hell kind of impression am I going to make now? We were having sex in your front hallway,” he said as he hastily buttoned his shirt. “I broke your damn table.”

“My mother’s a sex therapist,” Liese reminded him. “Wall sex is nothing compared to some of the whack-jobs she deals with.” She pulled her blouse on and shimmied her way back into her ruined skirt. “At least they didn’t come in when you were spanking me with your belt.”

Ryder blinked at her.

“What? It’s true; it could’ve been worse.”

Review:

Picture
If Ryder Whitehall was my principal I certainly would have been a much naughtier student. Holy Moses!

Obviously these two hook up but all is not that easy. Liese is worried about the impact sleeping with the boss will have on her career and does not want to be the topic of the rumor mill. So they embark on a secret affair that is not as simple as it sounds. Especially when one of her friends and coworker, Blake, is Ryders sworn high school nemesis.

Ryder has trust issues and although he is hot he is awkward at relationships, almost embarrassingly so. Seeing Blake and Liese pal around together and not being able to claim Liese publicly has made him grumpy and uptight. He was unsure how to show Liese his true feelings for fear she would run or not feel the same way for him. This endeared me to Ryder, it made him more realistic. Not all hot guys are so sure of themselves, all the time.

Picture
Liese does not have a good track record with men so she was unsure that being with someone that was hot and cold like Ryder was worth the risk to her future. I actually admired her and wanted to punch her at the same time. She had what she wanted but she was afraid to embrace it. She was too hung up on the what if's that she almost ruins everything.

Together Ryder and Liese burn up the pages with his domineering ways and her interest in less than vanilla sex. The chemistry was immediate and kept me turning the pages. The secondary characters were fun especially Blake and Marissa.

I loved this book however it missed the five star mark for me because there were a few loose ends with secondary characters that did not get resolved enough for me. I am a stickler for closure in a standalone especially if there is no subsequent book of other characters on the horizon. That being said it was a sexy, kinda kinky, and fun read. I highly recommend picking this book up.

A chance meeting turned my world inside out.

Intelligent, sexy, and rich. With a dash of roguish charm and a cocksure smile, Nathan Blake is the ultimate fantasy. He can have any woman he wants with only a glance.
And he wants me.
My past has left me broken and humiliated, wary of men like him.
I cut myself off from the pain, moving thousands of miles away to escape every reminder, determined to start anew.
I’ve been second best before. It isn't happening again.
One kiss and I'm caught under his spell, drawn to him with every breath I take.
I can't resist.
The passion that explodes between us becomes an intense connection neither of us thought we'd share. Or need.
The suffering inside me reflects his – a pain I know he feels, but can’t bring himself to reveal.
I have no idea his love can heal me – that mine can heal him…
…if only I can let down my guard for him and trust.
Salvation is a captivating story of finding, fighting and finally giving in to a love that is clearly meant to be. This is no ordinary billionaire romance - it is a beautifully tender, tastefully erotic story with twists and turns that will leave you wanting more.
Warning: This work of fiction is intended for mature audiences over the age of 18 due to the sexual content and explicit language used throughout. Parental/reader discretion is advised.
Please note that even though this book is set in the USA, it is written from the POV of the female lead who is English, therefore British English vocabulary and spelling has been used.

This book was so good. Well, good doesn't start to describe this book! Let's see- superior, superb, outstanding, exemplary, umm- it was just plain HOT! Exquisitely Hot!  There that is how I want to describe this debut book by Stephanie John, Exquisitely Hot.  Salvation, isn't your normal office romance, or your normal billionaire, alpha male takes his woman, kind of book, it is so much more.

John amazes me, with her writing skill, she writes with a level of  complexity that matches  seasoned  authors.  There was no detail too small for her and her story flowed seamlessly. Her characters were rich in description and I don't think, I ever feel I ever feel in love with the male lead, quiet so fast.

What I really liked about this story itself, it was unique.  It was a billionaire guy, falling it love with an office staff with one look basically.  That part is one in a million, but she really made it different.  She made this billionaire different.  As I said, I fell for him fast.  I do not fall for book boy friends like most people do, seriously I don't.  I have a handful of books, that I love the guy, in the book.  John made me LOVED Nate in this book.

I really do not want to give a thing away on this book!  A friend was a beta reader for this book and told me she loved it.m  She really didn't tell me much about the book itself.  She said, Stephanie John was a debut Indie Writer and she was good, that is really all I needed to know.  I didn't read the synopsis, I went and one-clicked the book.  I'm so glad I did! Listen to me on this- DO NOT MISS THIS BOOK!

I give Salvation 5 Flaming Hot Books!  ( that is better than stars btw)
