Karen LaGrange, little sister of the former enforcer for the Scorpions, lives in Canada, where she works with special needs children. After losing her job to downsizing, she makes an extended visit to San Diego, forming a friendship with the errant goalie.
Through frequent reminders that they are friends without benefits, Karen struggles to keep their relationship platonic, but the more she shuts him down, the more he wants her.
Can Cage convince Karen to slip under the sheets with him, or is he destined to be firmly entrapped in the friend zone?

Cage is a hot headed hockey player that no one on the team particularly likes personally but know he is the best professionally.
Karen's older brother Jody played hockey with Cage and she knows his public persona but not private side.
When Karen visits from Canada she runs into Cage at a Scorpions party. There is chemistry between Karen and Cage but Karen believes that Cage needs a friend more than another notch on his bedpost. She firmly puts him in the friend zone and fights her attraction. Cage likes Karen but he must get around Jody, who strongly dislikes him, to even spend time with Karen. The friendship grows slowly and just when Karen cannot fight her attraction anymore tragedy strikes.
In the aftermath Cage decides he is done with being in the friend zone and pushes his suit. Can Karen fight her attraction again? Does she really want to?
The story was sweet and told from dual POV. The book is a good read for those that love hockey ( there is a lot of hockey) and a sweet friends to lovers story.
