She was the best kind of trouble. The kind that was so wrong, it felt right.
I’ve tried and failed to stay away from him.
I’ve done everything in my power to make her mine and keep her.
He’s almost impossible to say no to.
She never tells me yes.
We’re always fighting.
When we’re not fighting, we’re… well… making up.
He makes me laugh so hard.
I miss her laugh the most.
I'm a liar.
She knows the truth, but won’t admit it.
Sometimes, I wish I'd never met him.
I wish we could meet all over again. I'd do better.
His girlfriend knows.
The guy she’s with is a fool.
I’ll never love anyone like I love him.
She doesn’t love me enough to choose us.
It was the wrong place.
It was the wrong time.
It should have been him.
It will always be her.
This book contains adult situations and is recommended for adult readers.
Blake, she is almost an anti-heroine, she is flawed. You want to dislike her for cheating, (oops, is that a spoiler?) but she is so torn and troubled over her actions. This brought up something for me to think about. Settling- that is what Blake is doing with Grant here. She settled for him, thinking that was the best guy she could ever get. I wonder how many of us can relate to her now? I know I would have a problem of choosing between a sure thing and something that completely set you on fire but, is so unknown.
Casey, he is pure sex on a stick. He always shows the upmost attention, giving of his time. He is a girls fantasy guy, every girl wants to be worshiped that way, made to feel wanted. This came easy for him, he didn't have to try. This is what made him swoon worthy! How he talked to her, how he treated her, if he can only make her see that he is real. I felt his pain, his need to have her. Mabie's view into Casey's mind was superb.
Mabie's banter between Blake and Casey were epic! It is what made this book flow so well and kept the "fun" in the book too. I loved her dual points of view, she changed between these two characters flawlessly. This is Mabie's first book? She write very well and brings a beautiful AWE to indie greatness. She is an author to be watched, she is able to bring out multiple emotions from one book (wow).
I give Bait 5 stars and it earns a place on my epic reads of 2015 list!
