Stellar Evolution (Falling Stars 1.5) by Sadie Grubor
Stellar Evolution is a short novella and picks up after Falling Stars. This novella bridges the gap between Falling Stars and H.I.T.S., and takes place after the bands tours end. Although this can be read as a stand-alone – READ Falling Stars first. Where Falling Stars centered on Chris and Mia’s relationship, this novella focuses on Chris and Jackson’s relationship as brothers, as well as getting to view Chris as a dad, and one of the best Vegas weddings ever.
Sadie takes the next step in this rock & roll world of relationships, and we see that not everyone has a Happy Ever After and how the pressures of being in the limelight can effect anyone exposed to it, including the most mature member of The Forgotten – Jackson Shaw – and we see the beginnings of his downward spiral.
This novella is an excellent addition to the Falling Stars series – a 5-star review.
In Falling Stars, you were introduced to The Forgotten and Hush (Hushed Mentality), their lives written for the world to read. In this follow up novella, find out what happens after the tours have ended.
Who can persevere under the pressure of love in the public eye? Who will fall apart? And who will become almost unrecognizable?
Some stars last for an eternity, some stars fade, and others evolve.
** Not a stand alone. To fully enjoy this novella, I suggest you first read Falling Stars. **
"For fractured souls are like magnets.
Drawn to collide into an impossible bliss…"
Labeled a ‘Cursed’ woman of Eve from birth, Maddie has endured nothing but pain and repression at the hands of The Order’s most abusive elder, Moses. Now living with her sister in The Hangmen’s secluded compound, finally, Maddie, is free. Free from the suffocating faith she no longer believes in. Free from endless years of physical and mental torment.
At age twenty-one, the timid and shy Maddie is content to live within the confines of her new home—safe from the outside world, safe from harm and, strangely, protected by the Hangmen’s most volatile member; the heavily pierced and tattooed, Flame.
The man who ceaselessly watches over her with his midnight dark and searing eyes. The man who protects her with a breath-taking intensity. And the man who stirs something deep within her numbed heart.
But when circumstances conspire for Flame to need HER help, Maddie bravely risks it all for the broken man who has captivated her fragile soul.
The Hangmen’s most infamous member, Flame, is ruled by one thing—anger. Plagued by haunting demons from his past, an all-consuming rage, and isolated by an abhorrent hatred of being touched, Flame's days are filled with suffocating darkness, pierced only by a single ray of light—Maddie. The shy, beautiful woman he cannot purge from his thoughts. The woman he has an overwhelming need to possess…
... the only person who has ever been able to touch him.
Flame’s mission in life is to protect Maddie, to keep her safe. Until a trigger from his troubled past sends him spiraling into madness, trapping him in the deepest recesses of his disturbed mind.
His Hangmen brothers fear that Flame is beyond saving.
His only hope of salvation: Maddie and her healing light.
Souls Unfractured is the third book in the Hades Hangmen series by the lovely Tillie Cole and yes, you need to read the first two to fully understand the whole story. However, you will want to read the first two books in the series to get to Flame and Maddie's story.I was so excited to read their love story with all the craziness that went along with the Hades Hangmen MC. I adore these series and Tillie Cole does not disappoint.
I do not know what it is about the broken soul of Flame that I found memorizing but I wanted his story from the first time I read about him in It Ain't Me, Babe. I was drawn to him as I was to Maddie. Flame is so damaged that it makes me want to cry and Maddie, oh my, she is a survivor.
Maddie and Flame are made for each other and the hurt and pain that they both experienced in life was devastating until they find the other. It was an honor to read about how their love for each other grew to a point that the past no longer mattered and love wins. I loved this story.
My only wish is that I could forget everything I have read so I can reread it and fall in love with them again. A total 5 star read and will be recommending the whole series. Texas Hugs and Happy Reading
Sawyer Morgan has a secret. Revealing his true feelings to his family could bring devastation and destruction, so he keeps the burden firmly on his own shoulders. When he moves back to Torey Hope to help with the family business, Sawyer’s hidden truth becomes too much to bear.
Luke Hamilton has a past overflowing with emotional and physical scars. A promise to his dying mother prevents him from seeking the love and acceptance he longs for. Taking a job in Torey Hope brings Luke face-to-face with taboo desires he thought long extinguished.
Secrets, lies, hatred, and fear threaten to destroy their lives. But, love has the power to overcome and lay claim to victory.
Will Sawyer succeed in proving to Luke some connections are worth fighting for?
A poignant tale of two hearts valiantly fighting to stay true and find love.
**This is a male/male romance. It has adult themes, language, and situations. Readers sensitive to homosexual relationships, abuse, hate crimes, and derogatory terms should take note. This story is meant only for readers age 18+.**
I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review.
Sawyer is a book that will hopefully change a few minds. A.D. Ellis has a knack of taking sensitive subjects and handling them with grace and dignity. She takes homosexuality and writes it in a way that isn’t stereotypical.I hope it will teach love and tolerance for everyone, no matter how different they may be from each other. It is hard enough to be different but to not be accepted as who your are, makes things 100X worst.
Sawyer has a wonderful family, he has always been well loved and close to every single member. When he decided to let out the secret that he is gay (that he has kept locked deep inside), he worries how his extended family will receive the news. This is a fear of most gay and lesbians deal with, and unfortunately it is with well-deserved anticipation. It breaks my heart for people not to be accepted by their own family due to prejudice and their own misconceptions.
Through love and support Sawyer is able to live his life without fear. The only thing he is missing is someone special to make him whole. He has had several relationships before but never found anyone that he really connected with. (Just like in real life, when you know, you know!)
I was so glad to see everyone from Torey Hope again, it just wouldn’t be the same book without them. Nicky is still my all-time favorite characters, he shines in every book (in my opinion). He is able says things that a lot people may be thinking, but is just afraid or embarrassed to ask.
I think Ellis gave us a realistic account of things that happen in the lives of the gay population. To read about things that happen to these men can be horrific and there isn’t always a happy ending. Thankfully Ellis gave us a HEA but that didn’t stop my tears from rolling down face. To be completely honest, it completely broke me down for a couple of hours.
I pray that everyone will read this book and understand it the way Ellis has intended. I hope any guys that read it (that is gay), that it will give you hope. Hopefully it will change at least one mind out there that has been previously not as understanding.
I give Sawyer 5 stars! This is an EPIC read!
When Ivy League & Tutus Collide
A collaboration by Amy Daws & Sarah J. Pepper
Getting screwed over backstage by my married-ex tears my heart into a million tiny pieces.
[Sitting in the audience at the ballet with my former fling wasn’t my idea of fun.]
I live in my pointe shoes, not even my ex can taint my love for ballet.
[I hate the ballet. This on again/off again crap was getting old.]
And then my whole world changes when I notice the smoldering gaze…
[Then I look to the stage, and I can’t take my eyes off…]
Concentrating on anything except his sexy…everything, is impossible.
[Her presence commands my attention…I’ve never experienced this before.]
He makes me second-guess everything I’ve ever dreamed about.
[She makes me question everything I’ve ever known.]
Fighting him is a strategic sport—no clothes allowed.
[All I can think about are her sexy ballerina legs wrapped around me—tutu definitely on.]
Our scandalous rendezvous is plastered all over NYC’s tabloids.
[Because of my status in Manhattan, now I’ve dragged her into the limelight.]
My ex will stop at nothing to tear us apart.
[Seriously powerful people forbid me to be with her.]
Rumors about his past keep building.
[I can’t tell her this secret.]
When it came to Leo, I only knew the big things.
[When it came to Adeline, I knew nothing about the little things.]
But uncovering those things about him [her] may push us past our breaking point.
Facebook Review Tour Party:
Release Author Rap Duet:
Amy Daws and Sarah J. Pepper makes one dynamic writing duo. Pointe of Breaking is their first co-authored book and it makes an incredible debut. They collaborated and made one seamlessly fantastic book. Just like Daws and Peppers colliding to write this book, Addy and Leo collided in this story.
I was consumed by this book from the first page. It has heartbreak and struggle laced with a great love story.
Daws and Pepper were able to make me really feel the anguish Addy felt. Also the contentment she had for another one of the characters. The characters were well developed and they describe the setting beautifully.
I fell in love with Leo quickly! He was very swoon worthy, he stood up for what he believed in and fought tooth and nail to make things right. He was a true hero in all accounts.
I hope to see more from DaPep in the near future. I give Pointe of Breaking 5 stars!
