Hello Lynn. Welcome to DayReader Reviews. It's a pleasure to have you today. Please tell me about your book.
Hi Renee! Currently, I have two books released in my Harden series. The series takes place and revolves around Harden, a small town in southeast Texas. Each book is based on a new couple, but they are closely intertwined.
Fatal Obsession is the first book in the Harden Series. In Fatal Obsession, you meet Kylie Page, whose life turns upside down during one tragic night. Forced to move in with her brother, she returns to her hometown, Harden. Blake Winters, a detective in the Harden Police Department and Kylie’s first love, lives across the street. They’re forced to spend time together as bodies show up dead around town. Can they explore a new relationship and stay alive as they search for the person behind the murders?
Ultimate Deception is the second book in the Harden Series. It picks up where Fatal Obsession leaves off. Dani Delaney is a head strong, independent, successful woman, who is faced with major life changes. Detective Sawyer Woods is a panty-melting charmer, who would give anything for a chance with the stubborn Dani.
Life as they know it has changed in a matter of months. No one is safe. Can Sawyer protect the one woman who doesn't want him and convince her to give him a shot? Or can one lie destroy it all?
What writing advice do you have for other aspiring authors?
Just sit down and write. Don’t write for anyone else because you won’t make everyone happy. Don’t write to make money because it likely won’t happen. Write because you want to and you enjoy doing it. It’s hard, but if you really enjoy it, it shows in your work and will pay off in the end.
What was your first job?
My first job was working at a daycare. I learned very early I didn’t have the patience to deal with more than one or two kids at a time.
What's your next project?
I’m currently working on Fighting Temptation, the third book in the Harden Series. There are 7 books planned for the Harden series. I’m also working on a super-secret project that I’ll be able to share more about in a few months. I also have about 10 million other book ideas.
Tell us about a unique or quirky habit of yours.
I’m extremely OCD about lists. Every day I make a To-do list. I have lists for everything..Work, Author Stuff, Home, etc.
What's your favorite material object that you already own?
My Kindle, of course. It goes with me everywhere even if I don’t think I’ll have time to read.
If you were to get a permanent tattoo done, what would it be and where?
I want a tattoo of a quote from Easy Love by Kristen Proby. “I am enough just as I am.” The quote really speaks to me on so many levels as I struggle to handle my life. Once I get over my fear of needles, I want it on my wrist or my foot. Haven’t decided that part yet.
Tell us something you hate doing. Why?
Laundry, dishes, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping. Are you sensing a theme here? My house in 9 times out of 10 a disaster area, which really annoys my OCD, but I hate cleaning. I think it comes from growing up the only girl in a house full of boys (hmmm I’m still the only girl in a house of boys) and being forced to do the inside cleaning as my chores.
Name one thing that drives you crazy.
Dirty clothes on the floor. Seriously. How hard is it to put them in the laundry basket in each room?
As a child, what did you wish to become when you grew up?
For the longest time, I wanted to be a teacher. As I got older, I found my love for writing, but it wasn’t easy to get published.
What takes you out of your comfort zone?
Large crowds and public speaking. If you ever have the chance to meet me, you’ll find I am very much an introvert. I spend a majority of my time by myself in front of a computer or talking to a two year old, so sometimes it takes me a while to grasp adult conversation.
What internet site do you surf to the most?
Besides Dayreader Reviews, of course. Facebook is the devil. I’m on it all day, every day. It’s a time suck, but a necessary evil.
What is your favorite dessert?
Pumpkin Cheesecake. In fact, the other night, I was ordering takeout from Olive Garden for my husband to pick up and they asked if I wanted to add pumpkin
cheesecake. My response “Do you even have to ask?” Now that I know it’s back, we’ll be eating at Olive Garden a lot more.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Reading minds. I would love to read people’s minds and hopefully see I’m not as crazy as I think I am.
If you can be a Disney character, who would you be and why?
Elsa because she can freeze things when she’s mad. How cool is that?.
What do you miss most about childhood?
Being carefree. Adulting is hard.
What is the wallpaper on your computer?
My book covers.
What is your middle name?
Do you do dance crazy when no one is looking?
I dance crazy all the time with my son especially in the car. It’s our special time.
Would you rather see a movie at the theater or at home on DVD? Why?
At home on DVD because it’s easier to hide my face behind a pillow at a part I don’t want to see and I don’t have to worry about getting weird looks when I jump or squeak.
One day, Lynn took her passion (maybe obsession is more apt) for romance books and mystery shows to write her first romantic suspense novel, Fatal Obsession, Book 1 in the Harden Series.
In her free time, Lynn enjoys reading anything she can get her hands on, spending time with her family and friends, coffee breaks, and country music.
She is currently working on Sawyer and Dani's story, the second novel in the Harden Series.
