My debut is a series of time travel erotic romance short stories. Three of them are available on Amazon, I’m currently working on the fourth. It’s about a 21st century college girl time traveling to ancient Rome by way of a mysterious magic locket, falling in love with the hot stud who happens to be the most notorious emperor Rome has ever known, and deciding to move there for good. But there are great many challenges in her way, including the emperor dying in the hands of the assassins, and she needs to find a way to save his life without messing up the history. You know the whole killing your own grandfather paradox we know from the scifi movies and literature. We also get to learn the truth about the emperor and get a glimpse of the life in ancient Roma through the heroine’s eyes, go through the whole culture shock with her.
What does your writing process look like?
Do you have any strange writing habits (like standing on your head or writing in the shower)? Do you write naked?
I love writing in pubs and cafes, surrounded by the crowd, but these days I’m broke so I sit on my bed with the laptop and my cat constantly interrupting my writing process with his furry paws. Nothing too exciting, just fighting the cat for access to the laptop keyboard these days.
What book do you wish you could have written?
The Lives of The 12 Caesars. At least I’d write the truth, damnit!
Just as your books inspire authors, what authors have inspired you to write?
For the erotic romance stuff, no one. I don’t read romance, erotica or erotic romance. I just wanted to write something original, something no one has written in this genre after seeing so many 50 shades and Twilight knock-offs out there.
If you could cast your characters in the Hollywood adaptation of your book, who would play your characters?
Tough question! I am not very good at actor/actress names, but I think I’d have the girl who played Catniss Aberdeen in The Hunger Games play my heroines. As for the emperor, I have no idea. Some hot stud with mesmerizing eyes and a sixpack would do nicely, I think.
How important are names to you in your books? Do you choose the names based on liking the way it sounds or the meaning? Do you have any name choosing resources you recommend?
Since I write historical time travel romance set in ancient Rome, I use Roman names. I picked some of them from the Pompeii graffiti, some from the historical chronicles. I deliberately avoid mentioning the name of my heroine, several readers have asked about it, but it will be a plot twist so she remains nameless for now.
If you could be a character in any novel you've ever read, who would you be and why?
The heroine of course. I’d love to hook up with a hunky Roman emperor!
What do you consider to be your best accomplishment?
Publishing 3 stories on Amazon would be the best to date! I have also relocated across the ocean a couple of times if that counts.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Hopefully as a successful full time writer with at least a dozen novels under my belt.
Were you already a great writer? Have you always like to write?
I don’t know if I’m a great writer, I can’t really judge my own writing. I say read my work and decide for yourself! I have been writing on an off since I was a little kid but never finished or published anything before this year.
Do you read your reviews? Do you respond to them, good or bad? Do you have any advice on how to deal with the bad?
I read all of them! I haven’t received a bad review yet but if I do, I won’t get butthurt over it. You can’t please everyone. People gave horrible one star reviews to cult classics and some of the masterpieces of literature, after all.
What's your next project?
I haven’t decided yet but I’m thinking of writing more time travel romance series involving Egyptian paharohs, Babylonian kings and more Roman emperors.
If you could live one month on T.V., like it was your real life, which show would like to live on?
The Game of Thrones! I’d love to live in the House of Black and White and train to be a faceless men assassin!
You were just given a yacht. What would you name it?
Speculum Dianae- Latin for Mirror of (Goddess) Diana.
If you were a Star Trek® [or Star Wars® ] character, which one would it be?
I’d be Jadzia Dax from Star Trek Deep Space Nine!
Does Prince Charming exist?
He does! In the dusty pages of old history tomes, though.
If someone made a movie of your life would it be a drama, a comedy, a romantic-comedy, action film, or science fiction? What would be the name of it, and who would play you?
It would be action, drama and tragedy with a touch of paranormal.
Have you ever had the feeling you were being watched?
All the time. There are security cameras everywhere!
What's your favorite material object that you already own?
My nook reader and the e-books in it.
If you could live anywhere on this planet, and take everything that you love with you, where would you choose to live? Tell the group about your choice.
Already done that – moved to Finland, my dream place to live.
If you could go to the past or future, where would you stay and why?
I’d go to the past, to the ancient Roman Empire. They had the hottest men, all those hunky emperors, gladiators and centurions to pick from.
Tea or coffee?
I’ll take both, why choose?
Tell us something you hate doing. Why?
Changing the cat litter. Who doesn’t hate it now?
As a child, what did you wish to become when you grew up?
A politician. I’m still considering it!
What specific thing have you done that impressed yourself.
Writing steamy sex scenes. I didn’t think I could even write so much a kissing scene. Not only did I write them but people actually loved them, judging by all the reviews I’ve received.
Describe your ideal romantic date.
2000 years back in time, sipping on wine with Caligula in his pleasure barge on Lake Nemi under the stars… The lake reflecting the stars like a mirror, as if the colossal barge was floating in a sea of stars.
If I came to your home and looked in your refrigerator, what would I find?
Cheese, deli meat, mascarpone, bread, orange marmalade, yogurt, the homemade food for the week.
Tell us something nobody knows about you.
I have an emperor fetish. Oh wait, they already know that. There’s really nothing about me that nobody knows.
What is the craziest thing you've done lately?
I’ve written a crazy series of stories about time traveling from the 21st century to ancient Rome and hooking up with the emperor, published them and even sold some!
When people look at me, they would never guess that I:
Write erotic romance and listen to black/death metal.
If someone rented a billboard for you, what would you put on it?
An advert for my books. Gotta put bread on the table!
Can you comfortably eat in a restaurant by yourself? Go to movie?
Always! I lived alone in strange places where I knew no one, got used to eating and going to the movies alone.
If you could meet anyone from history, who would you meet and why?
If you have read this far, you will already know the answer: Caligula of course, who else? He’s my source of inspiration, after all, the hero of my first published titles. I’d like to meet the man and tell him about the series I wrote about him. That’d be neat!
What is the wallpaper on your computer?
I use Linux. The window manager I use has the dynamic wallpaper feature, I have about 200 wallpapers and it sets a random one every 10 minutes.
